Nice Basic Refrigerator and Freezer.

I bought this to replace a fancy French door bottom freezer unit that gave up the ghost too early. Has more usable room than I thought it would have. Had to switch door hinge direction to LH for my installation. I also wanted an ice maker added, but the store was out of stock of the new $120 IM117000 3-pring rat tail ice makers that fit this unit. [Please note that the old standard ice maker Model IM116000 4-prong rat tail connector that was cheap ($50) and fit just about every other model made 2003 to present will NOT fit this unit.] Recessed handles on freezer door bottom and refrigerator door top are a little hard for an old guy like me to get used to after decades of having outer handles. But they work OK. Default temperature settings are a little cold for my likes, but easy to adjust a little at a time, a day at a time. Temp setting is just relative, colder or warmer, which is different than the digital thermostat I had on the old fancy one.No light in freezer is a little different than my old one that had a freezer light. Fortunately I have an overhead kitchen light that shines in just right, enough to see what's where in the freezer. Unit is a little noisy when it starts to recirculate air, like after when you bring in warm groceries from the store. But once you reach steady-state temperatures again, the recirculation motor doesn't run so much. One thing I would suggest is to offer this model with the ice maker pre-installed from the factory, rather than having to put one in. Installation is a little tricky for an old disabled guy like me. Not being able to do it when the unit is delivered because the new ice maker model is not available is a real bother.Pics of the unit in place, outside and in, are attached. That is my son showing off interiors.
